I agree! 70´s black ark was that great mystic flying carpet sound. He lost his standard and his music turned into sth. boring.
But what made the change? Do you think, he´s mentally sick? So much rubbish coming out of his mouth. Sick or just promotion?

The cynic in me believes that he went a little bit mad, but not so mad that he didn’t realise that he could sustain his career and make money out of appearing to be madder than he actually is (in more recent times anyway)

Back at the end of the Ark, I think Katz is probably right that it was a mixture of hangers on, cash flow, artistic snubs, Ganja and rum that made him think screw it I need to be left alone, hence he went out of his way to appear mad to scare everyone off.

If he was really truly as mad as he acts then he wouldn’t be able to function enough to go on tour, he’d be in jail or a looney bin for hurting someone, if your sane enough to sign a contract to release an album almost every year then your not completely mad eh?

Mick Sleeper called it "a strangely enjoyable album", and I think it sums it up quite well. I particularly like "Bed Jammin" and "Give Thankx To Jah". (Got the album yesterday from Honest Jons. It's also available at Spotify.)

As for other reissues, I don't rate Aura/Full Experience very high. I do think that "Natty Passing Thru" deserves a good reissue. (I have the Clocktower CD of "Ital Corner".)

Has anyone listened to the re-issued CD ? The sound samples seem to indicate it was lifted from a largely used vinyl copy, particularly hearable on "Easy Knocking"...

Well, I just received the CD and :

- contrary as some mentioned, the interview snippets weren't removed
- the audio rip sounds very amateurish at places (lots of noises here and there)
- the CD comes with extensive notes from David Katz

Still an interesting CD, but it won't replace with original vinyl copy.
