The original version was the Trojan release , the Jamaican version was apparently Perry's annoyed response to the Upsetters making an album in the UK

So, it's not even the same rhythm tracks as the Trojan release? It's a totally different album with the same title?

Think the upsetter or scratch the upsetter again only without the cheesy organs or think the instrumental version of soul revolutions from the wailers only with a bit more instrumentation added.

Personally I love this album and I would say it's perrys strongest release from this time period much less gimmicky than his other instrumental sets. Its like a development/improvement along/from the lines of the soul revolutions or africa's blood.

It is far more listenable for not having loud crappy organ and far less repetitive than just the bare rhythm tracks repeating loops

so was the original version of this album recorded in the UK while the Upsetters were on tour there? Or did Bruce White and Tony Cousins get a hold of some Scratch tapes and mix it for Trojan?

(I guess I could look back through People Funny Boy to see if the story is in there...)

It was recorded in London with the upsetters at the end of a tour of the UK (the trojan version I mean) great notes in the CD booklet by Katz

Of course they are. I'd forgotten...

In that case, you'd think that the pressing plant (if they were at fault) would bend over backwards to put things right for the sake of continued custom, wouldn't you?

I got the Trojan release of wonderland years today and I notice that one of the tracks on it is a track from sound doctor and it is definitely faster than the PS release and PS have never even admitted a problem that effects all the tracks on a release. They could easily issue fixed mp3s for little cost.

So the fact that half this board didn't demand refunds for sound doctor but they are baying for blood on this release amazes me......

At least mellowman has enough balls to admit its wrong PS don't

I actually contacted PS about Sound Doctor being mastered slow. They didn“t comment on that, but offered me a refund - which I turned down, as I wanted to keep the record anyway...
