As I''ve mused before since Bunny produced his own stuff I don't understand why so much of his back catalogue is so hard to get, I wish he'd 're release it all

I bought this album when it came out. I think he won an Grammy for it. But to be honest I was very disappointed by it. Yes I know it's all a matter of taste and Congo Bunny seems to be a bigger Bunny fan than I am - but Liberation is still one of my Top 10 Albums of all time! So it's not that I'm a Bunny Wailer-hater or anything

Just don't get too excited if you ever get your hands on it, cause even if you're a big hardcore Bunny Wailer fan, I can't imagine that you like it very much.

Thanks for the advice, appreciated, to be honest I'm used to him letting me down too especially with his newer stuff so I totally see your point, I guess that's why I'm not prepared to shell out the big bucks I've seen this set go for

Yeah it's quite sad really. But we all know that he's not the only artist whose 70s/80s output was way better than his 90s stuff. I still love Bunny though (obviously). Man was he great in that 2012 "Marley" Documentary. Maybe you're able to pick up that album for a few bucks someday.

My vote for 'Caution', too.
Just happened to listen it on a Bass Culture cd, 'When Reggae Was King'.

Which made me to think, that could it be said, that Wailer's music was on a par with the best in Jamaica at that time, early 70s, but later on the fast development of reggae in Jamaica was quite totally ignored by his production team and his rhythm concept remained at early 70s' skank-type rhythms, which on the other hand suited perfectly for his unique song writing skill.

Which probably made me to hop off Marley wagon at the time of 'Kaya' when I'm now thinking it afterwards. Old farts may remember the amazement of finding out rockers, DJs, dub, Augustus Pablo, Yabby You, Studio One et al after Marley.

thanks, but after re-reading the original post it seems i was off topic as it was asking about albums not tracks. I stand by my post however.

Bob is my favourite singer out of the three.

In terms of their best albums after their split.

Bob: Survival or Rastaman Vibration
Bunny: Blackheart Man and Rock and Groove
Pete: Equal Rights although I do have a really soft spot for the versions of Burial and No Sympathy on Legalize It.

I think Pete's best solo work was before their split with his original stepping Razor. blackarkrock list of songs is very good! I think every period of bob marleys work has very strong songwriting and good players behind him. Just a question whether you like the slicker sound he had later on.

Trenchtown Rock is also one of my favourite reggae songs and one of the first to get me into the genre.
