Sorry to say but Prison Oval Rock from Barrington Levy is known as dancehall, not roots. Produced by the master-dancehallproducer of that time "Junjo" Lawes.
Nevertheless a fantastic album!!

DROP EVERYTHING IMMEDIATLY AND RUN TO THE STORE AND GET THESE !!!!!!!! Every single song on these albums is a good one and they all seem to be arranged quite well so get them, lite one up and enjoy.

Three very nice selections in no particular order:
The Mighty Diamonds - Changes (1981)
The Royals - Pick up the pieces (1977)
Dennis Brown - Joseph´s coat of many colours
As many others has noticed, it is hard to choose only three records. These three records should be in every roots collection.

I love this In Crowd double cd too, the tracks "you facey whitey" and "power of the spirit" on cd1 are CRAZY and "Man from new guinea" album in the cd2 heal my soul everytimes!
