sorry guys don't take it personnally but how come top deck label is not mentioned on this site?
instead of adding ub40, specials etc, it would be wiser to add this label...

"Is the purpose of the Roots Archive to "bring you a comprehensive and searchable database of Jamaican Roots Reggae Albums from 1970 to 1985?" Yes."
Roots Archives isn't dedicated to just roots reggae. Roots reggae is the term used to decribe reggae with social, political and religious lyrics. Stuff like Gregory Isaacs and John Holt are on here and they hardly have those lyrics.
UB40 do however- their early recordings on albums like "Present Arms" and "Signing off" deal mainly with critisicm of Margeret Thacter, the Legalisation of Cannabis and unemployment.
They do deserve to be on this website.

If you liked them, the 12" single of Folitician / I Won't Close My Eyes was nice, with extended dubs.

I don't agree with Santa Claus, Gregory Isaacs did a lot of songs with social, political and religious lyrics, but there are many love songs thats true.
I don't like UB 40 to much, because i don't like the singing style of the lead singer. But it's a matter of everyone owns taste.

Big up UB40!
Many people discovered the reggae music through the works of UB40. Ali Campbell is a talented and unique singer.
I give my respect to this group of people that has heart for the music and that has kept the music clean and positive throughout the last three decades.
