Re: Why do people talk non-stop and so loudly in a roots dance?

When I have the chance to go to a roots dance (which unfortunately is much too rare) I want to enter into some deeper Iditation through the music, the lyrics and the MC chatting. This makes me quite unsociable as I can't do this when I have to concentrate on other people by talking (or listening) to them. I am aware though that most people probably want to socialise if they go out. I do not have a problem with it per se because one of the things I always liked about roots dances is that you can be free and can do your own thing. People who go there to get spiritual strength and praise the Almighty can do so and people who only go for general enjoyment can do so, too. Why not? Something positive might enter into them still. Normally the sound volume at a good dance should take care of any annoying distractions. How I remember U.K. dances you could only talk to someone by shouting in his ear. What is this what I read about db limits? Since when is that?

Its the same with the radio execpt they do all the talking in betwwen the records, so they only play 6 records in an hour and they call it a music station.
Less talk more music what you getting paid for the adverts.rhetorical question.
