Can't agree with you regarding "Harvest Time" as it really isn't a patch on "Suffering/Prophesy". In fact, the title track is the only track that is as good as anything on "Suffering/Prophesy". Just my opinion, of course. [/quote]
6anbette- listened to both today and hate to admit it but you're right. Harvest Time just isn't as dread as Prophecy. I do like that you can hear Carlos' voice better in the mix on Harvest Time but the LP as a whole isn't up to Prophecy's standards. Although, "white squall" and "i love jah" are great tracks that keep up a pretty high standard.

yeah prophecy is definitely better than harvest time, though one or two good tracks are on the latter too.

Must admit I am a massive Negus Roots fan so tonight's playlist is as follows;
Gimme Gimme Your Love + Version - Don Carlos
Leaving - Lacksley Castell
Leaving Dub - Sly & Robbie
Harvest Time - Don Carlos
Repatriation - Horace Martin
Mini Bus Driver - Voice Of Progress
Conductor Of Dub - Sip A Cup Meets Negus Roots
Morning Glory - Lacksley Castell
Dub Glory - Sly & Robbie
In Pieces - Don Carlos
We Want Work - Horace Martin
Working On A Site - Voice Of Progress
Righteous Stand - Lacksley Castell
Righteous Dub - Sly & Robbie
Live In Harmony + Version - Don Carlos
Lost In Space - Voice Of Progress
Government Man - Lacksley Castell
Dub the Government - Sly & Robbie
Jah, Hear My Plea + Version - Don Carlos
That works for me. Few dubs missing, but I think that just about fits on one CD.
Saving my favourite until the end, of course!
"La, la, la la,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Woa, woa, woa, woa
Jah, jah....."

Hi Jason
An absolutely incredible album which I fell in love with when it came out in 1981. I actually bought it thanks to a write-up in the regular newsletter Dub Vendor used to send out!
I really don't think it gets better than that.

Simon,
Not much Gold on that one, occasional backing but hardly noticeable. It really is a good album.
Well its just about my favorite along with "Pure Gold"

Hi Dave
I must admit I don't know either of the Roy Cousins produced albums mentioned on this thread. ("Plantation" was the other one).
Must get on my bike and check them out. As you know I do have a very soft spot for RC!
Just ordered that (and "Plantation") so thanks for the heads-up on that one.
