So, my postcards and accompanying free King Tubby album arrived today...

The postcards are genuine glossy postcards (there's space for an address and a stamp on the back).

Here's a scan of the back of one of them, for anyone that cares (you already know what the front looks like).

I've scanned the bag too (with the postcards in it). It's like one of those flimsy, shiny paper bags you might get at the newsagents or post office if you're buying a birthday card - but smaller.

Bag mystery - Solved!

The presentation and production of the cards looks nice, the back too is simply but nicely designed, but I'm really a bit lost on why they even mention the bags!

It is exactly as you describe it. Like a bag you get when you buy a greeting card.

How about taking a trip to JA and sending a KT postcard to yourself? That way it would then have a genuine Jamaican stamp and postmark!
It might even be possible to get a Waterhouse postmark if indeed there is a post office in that neighbourhood.
;)

I wish that I could afford a trip to JA...

Yaknow, there's a potential money-making opportunity to be had here for the Jamaican board members. Get paid to post people's Free King Tubby postcards back to them...

I've been fortunate in the past to go to JA twice.
First time not so great, second time in 2000 - awesome!

Not likely to happen again for a long time.

Right now I'm just trying to have enough $ to pay rent and eat properly...

To save some money you could mail it to someone in waterhouse and have them send it to you. ;)

Regarding the cards themselves I think they are a cool way of making people want to buy a CD nowadays. Give something extra. Personally I don't usually buy reissues but I actually feel like getting this for the sake of the cards. They look neat.

Getting back to the original topic... Damn, but King Tubby was a handsome devil when he was younger! ;) I love the middle-aged Tubby in crown and tank top, but the slim, dressed to kill Tubby is a must!

'Free Young King Tubby Postcards' update:

They're giving them away with their new Jah Wobble 10" now. Do they have more Free Young King Tubby Postcards than they know what to do with, I wonder? ;)

Would anyone mind scanning/photo the front of these Tubby cards?
I made a purchase recently and got a Leonard Chin and Errol T, and Santic All Stars post cards. I can take a photo (sorry, no scanner) if anyone wants to see these?
