Mikey General - Sinners LP
It's been a couple years since I last listened to this LP and I'm surprised I mentally compartmentalized it in the "half nice" category. It's really a great listen all the way through. Love Mikey General to the max and it's hard to go wrong with these early Xterminator productions. Phillip Burell gets my vote for best JA producer of the 90's.

A spam-busting "Dancehall Memories" mix CD including the whole "One Dance" saga and Tenor Saw's "No Work on Sunday" (not his greatest).

I've been spinning a lot this charming little ditty, where Anthony Johnson's vocals float over Radic's solid playing.

That's a lovely song, Rokkimakke. I only know it from his album for Jah Thomas. Was it ever released on single?
It's the same rhythm as Michael Palmer - Mr. Money Man (Midnight Rock 7") and Earl Cunningham - One Away Man (Oak Sounds 12").
Rub-a-dub in effect!

Heja Kalcidis,
I'm so happy that you liked that tune, 'cause some people I've played it haven't quite got its charm.
And you answered my non-asked question about the use of the riddim. I'll have to check' em later. Michael Palmer is one of my favourites, too.
This pleading herbal tune is also from Gunshot cd.

Uniques - Absolutely Rocksteady (Pressure Sounds)
After a long spell of listening to reggae between '75 and '85, checking for some rocksteady is truly refreshing! I can easily understand why some Jamaican music fans claim rocksteady as the island's greatest musical era. I don't think Jamaican music on the whole has ever again been as soulful as it was for the brief period rocksteady ran things.
