honestly bridgie i think its a shockingly bad album

and i feel i must have 25 CDs with at least one version of BAG O WIRE chucked in with Johnny Clarke crooning away in the background. Talk about done to death!who knows of other dub tunes that crop up on almost all dub compilations? its really very tedious in fact

"My Conversation": Everyone has done a dub version of this riddim. And of course the great "Freedom Blues" is also pretty much used by everybody.

Luckily I can say that I haven't got/heard many "bad" dub albums, but there are a few disappointing ones out there, and yes, most of them on the Rhino label. Like "King Tubby upset the upsetters" it is strictly Bunny Lee/Aggrovators stuff and not even their hardest riddims and mixes. all very bland. Also take extra care with Esoldun and related labels like Culture Press, they also have released a couple of mediocre titles.

Bebo Phillips "in a dub style" from 1985, thats just a terrible... probably the most boring thing Iv ever heard. the horns in "silence is golden", youd think its a joke.

"Ranking Dread In Dub" must be the worst dub album I have heard so far.

I think the Ranking Dread In Dub is an excellent album. Perhaps maybe not one of the greatest but most definately an album worth getting and listening to.
