Savana Station is maybe too poppy but they have this one GREAT song: 'herbsman', which I think is really good and rootsy. Wish they had more of that stuff.
The Internationals: their gigs are always a party!

I'm from the Philippines. We pretty much have a lot of mainstream attention being directed at the reggae scene there these days but in so far as I'm concerned, these are the local reggae bands that are most notable:

Tropical Depression
Junior Kilat
Peace Pipe
Indio-I
Reggae Mistress
