I- Roy- "Buck and the Preacher" and "Look A Boom" both feature brilliant spoken intros.
Or Jacob Miller "Keep on Knocking"

I think it's strange how I can identify hundreds of reggae tunes right from the drum break in the intro!

Thanks

Santa played Drums on Chant down Babylon, the opener of the ("follow up") Album Confrontation. Another great Drum Intro imho. Maybe the writer of that article you read was mistaken there.
Santa is the drummer on " Coming In from the cold" too.

nice topic

Winston Rodney was master in this arena:

Door Peep - Burning Spear

Invasion - Burning Spear

Rise & Shine - Jah B (specifically the later, LP version)

Santa played on Comin'In From The Cold, Chant Down Babylon and Africa Unite.
Actually on Africa Unite I hear 2 drummers or maybe a drummer overdubbing or maybe is a looped drum...a trick that Alex Sadkin used in Criteria Studio for Disco productions....those were the pre-sampling days.
