Ob, are you a rasta ? I didn't know some rastas could think what you think, the core belief of rastas being : Selassie is the second coming of Christ. Your point is interesting and surprising. Any rasta church of movement following this idea ? Please explain more your vision about HIM

"For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:27

Have you guys listend to this song?

http://www.jah-lyrics.com/index.php?songid=204

He says, third verse:

The truth hurt, but the truth set you free,
Ina Matthew 24, Jah sey: "Listen to me;
When me come again everybody a go see."
So a couldn't him land a Norman Manley.
A full time we put down the confusion,
A house that's divided just can't stand,
So go read your Bible, go read all or none,
It say Jesus a the only Son, me done..

Yes I am a RasTaFarIan..First of all the word Haile Sellassie I, is Amharic word which means Power of the Holy Trinity...A Title.

Haile Sellassie I is a man, and 12 Tribe RasTa nah worship flesh and blood nor wood or stone. We follow after God the Creator, and we give thanks to Yeshua the Christ who is God.

Now to understand the way of 12 Tribe RasTa one must read the bible one chapter a day, with a clean heart, to know the end one must know the beginning also.

Haile Sellassie I is a direct desendant of King David, and King Solomon of the tribe of Judah, you do know that the bible is a recorded history of 12 Tribes of Israel? not the country either.

Now the promies that was made between God and King David is that the throne would never perish and the line would continue.
The Davidic Covenant Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, thus saith the Lord of host, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be a ruler over my people, over Israel.II SAM.7:8 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee, thy throne shall be established for ever. II SAM.7:16

This covernant, upon which the glorious Kingdom of Christ of the seed of David according to the flesh is to be founded, secures - A Davidic house, a throne, a kingdom, In perpetuity, which is to say forever. And this fourfold covernant has but one condition, disobedience is to be visited with chastisement, but not to the abrogation of the covernant II Sam.7:15;Psa.89:20-37;Isa.24:5;54:3.
The chastisement came first in the division of the kingdom under Rehoboam, and finally in the captivities II Ki.25:1-7.
Since that time but one king of the Davidic family has been crowned at Jerusalem and He was crowned with thrones.
But the Davidic Covernant confirmed to David by the oath of Jehovah, and renewed to Mary by the angel Gabriel is immutable Psa.89:30-37, and the Lord God will yet give to that thorn-crowned one the throne of his father David Lk.1:31-33;Acts.2:29-32.

When Sellassie I was asked if he was the Christ, He said "No I am just a man, one shouldn't mistaken the divine as enmulating from the human, to be GOD."

Christ in His Kingly Charater, is Haile Sellassie I
Not Christ in His full glory, for that is the second advent still to come.
YesHua Kristos is GOD.

One Love.

to Ob,
I thank you for this Bible retrospective.
Yet some points remain unclear for me. It seems like you say in conclusion : no Haile Selassie (or Tafari Makonen) is not Christ and then you say, yes he is Christ, in his kingly character. First how can he be Christ and not Christ at the same time, and what do you mean by "kingly character" ? Wasn't Christ and will always be King of King and Lord of Lords ?

to survival
your quote is exactly the one I did to a twelve tribes fellow in Addis, and the man replied, that indeed, Selassie was the second advent and that this was a metaphor. So I'm a bit surprised that Ob learns me the Twelve Tribes believe Selassie is not the second advent.

Yes charater(personality) thats all it means, and not at anytime have I said He is Christ.

Many great men have carried the the pearl(charater) of Christ...Adam was the first, Seth, Enoch, Abram and so on, that did not make them the Christ.

The coranation of Christ never happened when He was pon earth...The only crowning that took place was with thrones.

One Love.

I wonder, after all this discussion, why is it that the Rastafari faith in Selassie as JAH, conquering lion of the tribe of Judah, still presides? This dancehall days in the music are propagating babylon, and at the same time are calling on HIM as the King of Kings. Many Rastas have said, and I stand behind them: REGGAE MUSIC IS THE WEAPON OF THE FUTURE! But with all these babylon music coming from all over the world we are destroying this chance. We are all here for the music mainly, and it is vital that we clear the confusion with artists claiming to be singing for HIM Haile Sellasie! That goes to all the famous new artists, including Capleton, Sizzla, Buju(in jail), Beenie Man, Bounty K, Elephant. Someone should tell them the truth so they can use their artistic ability to spread rightousness... no disrespect intended.

Excuse me for bringing up this old thread. It is a topic that I have engaged in conversation with my bandmates for quite some time. We stand behind Jesus Christ, but we are Rastas at heart. One Love, One God, One Destiny.

Respect
