anyway back to Gregory, it would be nice if someone chaged the title of this thread and removed gregories name, as it only serves to give him a bad name.
Gregory is one of the best reggae artisst to have ever lived in my opinion, many of them have bad habits.
No man; back then people used ether to turn coke into a smokable base; easy to light yourself on fire; that's what Richard did.

someone already explained this in an earlier post, apparently back in the early days freebase was something different to rock, different end product which did involve use of solvents yes, but someone clarified this in a post somewhere here, thnx for the comment.
I only watch gregory's funeral yesterday on youtube and seeing this thread makes me want it deleted or renamed to remove his name, my personal view of course.
But back to the original argument about the nightnurse song, i think the drug argument carries a little more weight than the ladies argument, of course everyone wants to think it'a about some mystical night nurse! some beautiful lady of the night!lol and it is for those ladies listening, i'm sure he did write it with the ladies in mind, but at the same time it was also about his suffering.
Thats just my own view on it and we will only ever get peoples personal views on this so we'll never know unless one of his personal bona fide friends comes along who knew more about the song and reveals the truth.
Rest in Peace I Gregory.......

Anyone ever think the song is just about a nurse that works the night shift? My girlfriend is a "night nurse". He just needs a little TLC from his nurse. Not so hard to understand...At least for me.

Hey guys
This song refers to the great mr. Isaacs' MORPHINE addiction, not coke, crack or any other by-products.
If you've ever needed morphine for pain this song would make perfect sense.
Research it if you don't believe me.

No it is about his addiction to a healthy drug-free lifestyle and stable relationships.

Can we prove that the guy wasn't addicted to cough syrup?
