Prince Jazzbo - "Choice Of Version"
Hi Ernie B - interestingly (or maybe not) "Roots Dub Style (Scorpio)" has just surfaced on eBay.

Not only that, but there's another thread posted earlier today or yesterday alerting us to the fact that it is on eBay, which left me wondering if Ras Dragon and Ernie B are one and the same man?
It is a good LP though...

Hey Leggo Rocker
Funnily enough that's exactly what I thought!! Incidentally, I know you hate them, but I bought my 1st 7" for nearly 30 years yesterday! You really have got me hooked back into vinyl!

Actually 6anbatte, I recently got out all my reggae 7's to record and then sell.
I played a few, then put them away again. I decided to keep them...
Now I have two SL1210s set up in my room with a mixer, playing them is a little less of a chore. But there's still the quality problem.
Anyway, just to prove I am not completely anti 7 inchers I am now playing:
Since I met you Baby - Earl George - Eagle 7"
and
Vanity - Sugar Minott - Studio One 7"
The Earl Gearge one sounds OK, but the Studio One 7s a stinker! Sugar sounds like he's wearing a face mask while the backing band appear to be performing under water while frying chips. It also has such a shallow run in groove that, despite cueing right it up at the start of the intro , as soon as I hit play the stylus slid off the deck and munched on the slip-mat. And the run-off groove runs the stylus off intot he badly placed label! grrr!
Back to the 12s in a minute I think!

Hi Leggo Rocker
"..as soon as I hit play the stylus slid off the deck and munched on the slip-mat. And the run-off groove runs the stylus off intot he badly placed label! grrr!"
That sounds painful!!
I must admit I bought a couple because they happened to be right in front of me at the pay-here counter. I had an armful of albums and was in the zone! (I would probably have bought anything that was in field-of-vision to be honest!). I was particularly interested to find out what they sounded like on a sonic level. I must admit they sounded a lot better than I thought they would.

Are they NEW 6anbatte? Because when new or well cared for the 7s aren't so bad. But the poor things seem to get mistreated so much (maybe because they used to be relatively cheap?) and so it's hard to find 7s in good order.
Anyway, I've packed up playing singles and am now playing:
Leggo Dub - Revolutionaries - Cash and Carry (LP)

Hi Leggo Rocker
Yes, they are. Studio One reissues.
I was going to buy a shed load of Channel One original 7s and digitise them (along with their respective b-side versions). That was the theory until I look at the state of them!! Shocking.

Sunday School - Mikey Dread - DATC-D017 (12 inch 45)
This one segues into a great spaced-out-horns dub section. Brilliant!
