"only a fool will say in his heart there's no god" (or similar)

i really like that one. I heard it first in a heptones song, though i'm not sure. i've heard variations in other songs since.

anyone know where it comes from?

hi omar,
"a fool says in his heart there's no god. but if that your belief my friend it's too sad. you're trying to show me that you know yourself. Purify your heart then you'll know yourself"
this one blows my mind any time any hour

Johnny Osbourne, Purify your heart

I'm also thinking about this wonderful song of Gregory Isaac, One One Cocoa, it contains lots of sayings. Please complete/correct the lyrics

"now it may be for long but it won't last forever. No , no , it will never. Cause what you did now I really ain't know, old time people say every ????????.. so go on and have your fun, I'll work and wait till my day come. Cause any man who tries hard will make it, just practice, one one cocoa fill basket"

from the same period "Look before you leap"
thanks

He who seeks for only vanity
And cares not for humanity
Shall Fade Away

And he who worships silver and gold
shall surely lose his own soul
And Fade Away--Junior Murvin

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. That goes for dogs too.

Penny wise and pound foolish--I always thought that one was about miserliness and missing the big picture by focusing on the piddly little stuff.
