Hehe, is dat cheatin?
Yes
Nah??!! Jah Glue, be a pal?
No one else can match up to Ras and his crew!! They´re allready a perfect combination.... so why disturb it?
Coz its more fun to combine. I love The Aggrovators too but it would be pretty dull if i just wrote The Aggrovators on everything. But suit yourself.

As the thread originator, I would prefer it if you list the artists, even if they are all from the same group.
Then it helps educate the newcomers to the genre.

Being a fan of more than just reggae, I'd love to see a massive band explore funk and reggae.
Executive staff: No idea
Producer: King Tubby
Co-Producer: Lee Perry
Production staff: Perry/Tubby
Engineer: Perry/Tubby
Mixing Engineer: Perry/Tubby
Song writer(s): Anyone in the band capable of writin’ a good one
Musical Arranger: Rick James
Herbsman: California's Medical library
Chalice and Spliff production: I roll ‘em pretty good
Players of instrument and singers:
Lead Singer: James Brown/Bob Marley
DJ / Toaster: Barrington Levy
Backing singer(s): Parliament Back-up singers
Drums: Wadi Gad
Bass: Bootsy Collins
Percussionist(s): the Heart of the Congos percussion team, which as well as I can figure is: Lee Perry, Skully & Sticky, Mikey Boo Richards & Paul Douglas & Sly Dunbar. Open to corrections!
Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Rhythm Guitar: Eddie Hazel
Keyboards / Piano / Organ: Stevie Wonder
Saxophone(s): Maceo Parker/Fred Wesley
Trumpet: Miles Davis
Trombone: none
Melodica (optional): Augustus Pablo
You'll notice a bunch of the best funk musicians as well as reggae ones in this crew. It's something I haven't seen and would love to. What's the band name? Immortals. Their first album? Rip It Up.

Of course, of course. You a funk fan too?
I was thinking about an all alive version of the same band.
The core would be the Dap-Kings, Sharon Jones' (a modern day female JB) backing band. They did the work on all of Amy Winehouse's new cd and have worked extensively with the likes of RZA of the Wu Tang Clan, Keb Darge of deep funk production/DJ fame, and Britain's premier producer Mark Ronson. I don't know who else I'd add to the line up from the reggae world as I don't know percussionists/horn players in reggae as well as I know those in funk. However, I know at the very least I'd have Barrington and Jones at the front of the band. Imagine the interplay! Two genders, two styles. Imagine Barrington in your funk or Aretha in your roots. Anyone wanna add to this?

I love this thread except for the fact that I found 74 new e-mails in my inbox when I got home from my holiday. Most of them was from this thread, I forgot to un-check the litte box below. However...
I really like 6anbattes lineup, Roy Cousins is a cool touch.
