The track is called [Counter Punch](

http://www.roots-archives.com/release/4 ... ight=56351).
Check the 2nd track: another Black Ark recording! An instrumental version of Leroy Smart's "World of Hatridge".

AnorakTrev wrote:I`m sat here listening to a CDR of " Zion Hill Dub " by Bobby Kalphat and Phil Pratt , get to track six ( no track list as it is a Terminal Records white label ) and come across this track that is VERY reminiscent of Perry/Black Ark about the time of " Kung Fu Meets The Dragon " era .
I have read in " People Funny Boy " by Dave Katz that the pair ( Kalphat and Pratt ) had studio time at the Black Ark . Any ideas or knowledge about this track ?
I can't speak to this track specifically but I have a Phil Pratt various artistes LP called "Redder Than Red" on his Chanan Jah imprint (ca. 1976?) that has at least a few Black Ark-recorded tracks (including the title cut by Linval Thompson) & also includes Bobby Kalphat's "Zion Hill."
This LP is not listed in RA but here is a bit of infos

@Ron:
According to Al Campbell the 2nd track was recorded by Phil Pratt and then him (Al Campbell) voiced the track at the Ark. So the original song on that riddim is by Al Campbell - "Take These Shackles".
@Jahson:
"Zion Hill" isn't ark related song. (I'm not sure if you even claimed so)

@Litelet: I have it on CD. I like it... although they could improve the quality.

There are two CD versions avaliable . I have both the RUNN copy and the TROJAN . Trojan imo seems to be the better quality one , with two more previously unreleased tracks from the same session added ( as well as " African Freedom " by Brother Hood ? )
The liner notes , by Jeremy Collingwood , state that " the only mastertape of the project is a re-used 4-track tape , with weak fidelity .... "

Right, I wasn't sure if it was an Ark related track or not. It's the melodica version of 'Party Time' by the Heptones, which of course was recut again by Scratch a couple of years later with the full Ark production. Thanks for clearing that up!
