I have this (bought back in the day).
Label as in RA;
Matrix number as in RA - JGML 2914
That's the later label (sorry!). The earlier ones I have are both DSR pressings.

Now playing:
An amazing 12 inch 45 featuring two of the greatest voices in reggae:
Linval Thompson PLUS Chinner & Sould Syndicates (phew!) - Westbound Plane - 'The Betsy Original Stamina' label
Awesome guitar and (hammond?) organ on this!
Flip side is:
Johnny Clarke - Ride On Young Girl
I've never seen or heard of this label before and picked this one up in stone mint condition (ex Shoenfeld Collection, I think). Both tracks are brilliant but the Linval Thompson track really does it for me. It's gone into the MIX BAG for my next gig!

Hi Leggo,
count yourself lucky, this is really a diamond.
If there's prod.by K.Hobson written on the label then sit back and take a smile, it's Keith Hudson. He produced all recordings on the Jamaican Stamma label and 'The Betsy...' label was only used for this release in England.

You are not kidding Bellyman!
When it first arrived I played it at least five times over. And since then I've played it maybe twice a day minimum.
The Linval Thompson side is really captivating.
It's one of those records that manages to stand tall even in amongst a quality collection of killa tunes.

I checked and found I actually got this particular 'The Betsy' 12 inch from Goodysrecords in NY. I did a quicksearch for it and can't find another like it anywhere!

Hi Leggo Rocker
Yes, I know - 1980 to be precise.
Sorry, I thought I was clarifying a point. That's why I was showing a pic of the label of the album I have with that matrix number. I now realise I wasn't clarifying anything. Remind me not to post on a Saturday!

Hi 6anbatte! Don't post on a Saturday!
And remind me not to moderate the forum on a Sunday evening (sorry, but only the Mods will get this one!)
