off course I don't.
I don't know if the message where I say that I respect marley anyway is part of the ones who have been cancelled today.
for me the ruin of jamaican reggae started with blackwell who altered partly wailers stuff with ingredients that uk and america consumers loved.
the consequences were a disaster cos lots of artist tried to hit the jackpot copying this hybrid cocktail. when you live in the third world and you see some guy from your neighbourhood becoming rich, you take your chance!
I feel disappointed about marley being the puppet of economical interests and I feel disappointed about marley as a rasta. but that's it!
blackwell is the incarnation of colonialism... he took away the goods of a country and at the same time it's not easy to condemn his intervention (was it globally good or bad for the people of jamaica?). but musically it was a disaster!
so it would be unfair to accuse someone in particular cos all of them had (more or less) good intentions. but if I have to sum up my point of view in a few words, you know how I explain it

@Jah Glu
Perhaps its a language thing. But 'unbelievable' is not the same as 'outraged' in English. Not nearly.
I don't mind you not liking this LP, why should I care?
But to call it pop, that's just not right. It may be an opinion but it can never be fact.
@all
Big thanks to I-Lion-Tafari for bringing some decorum back to this thread. Excellent points he made. Especially by making us aware that it was the reggae world itself that put Bob on a throne. If Prince Far-I said he was King, I'm inclined to agree as Far-I was 100% bona fide.

Exactly! Why should you care, but you still do so incredibly much!
"But to call it pop, that's just not right".
Says you. Once again that is your opinion, which does not make it a fact. Totally worthless, just like mine;)
