Natty Wailer? More like Duppy Wailer.

check out the Familyman Barrett High Court Judgement (www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/.../barrett ... d_0506.htm )where Ian Winter is listed as a witness.In the section -The Witnesses-paragraph9 he is listed as,and I quote, "Ian Winter("Natty Wailer")Mr Winter is a musician....etc "by the Judge so there is clearly no dispute that Natty Wailer is Ian Winter.At no point during the trial did any of the parties or other witnesses(ie Aston Barrett,Rita Marley etc)dispute Natty Wailers authenticity(as Ian Winter) or presence at rehearsals at that time.Therefore it is clearly not true that he is an imposter of any kind.

If you omit the (pretend) Natty Wailer reference you'd be spot on.

Of course Ian Winter is no imposter!

The pretend Wailer (real name Nathaniel) is the imposter!

Ian Winter has never lived in Ireland, unlike the pretend Wailer. He has never played a gig in Ireland, unlike the pretend Wailer. He has no band, unlike the pretend Wailer. He has no bebo site, unlike the pretend Wailer and avoids being photographed, unlike the pretend Wailer. He would never confuse a Wailing Soul for a Wailing Wailer, unlike the pretend Wailer.

Hopefully the pretend Wailer is made to pay the price of making additional profit out of his fraudulent activity, billing himself as someone he's not.

The imminent changes in the Irish Republic's tax laws on entertainers kicks in soon and if the tax man googles the pretend Wailers stage name he'll get some great reading on this site.

Granted, that point made by the Courts is worth looking at again because it does confirm Ian Winter was there and he is known to his associates as 'Natty Wailer'.

There is no mention of anyone named Nathaniel (stage name 'Natty Wailer') in the papers.

I've looked back through the thread but I can't find it - how was it discovered that the guy's real name is 'Nathaniel'?

he is a man of many names. Nathaniel Ian Wynters. Ian being his second last name

PS: Natty Wailer was given more than one first name by his parents like most of us, one of them is Ian, another one is "Nathaniel" (= Natty).

Ian Willy Winter was the first man to be called 'Natty Wailer' (by The Wailers themselves) but he was always credited on the record labels or sleeves as Ian Willy Winter/Ian Wynter, but never by his nickname 'Natty Wailer'. He recorded and toured with The Wailers. No photographs of Willy are known to exist.

Unlike Willy, Nathaniel loves been photographed and using the 'Natty Wailer' name. He has never recorded or toured with any of The Wailers.
