Who is Simple Simon - his biography, i confused him with Eek-A-Mouse. They sound very similar.

Any link is welcome

Simple Simon lived in Morant Bay, and "sing-jayed" on a sound called Lee's Unlimited. I met him in 1983 when staying in Morant Bay. He gave me a copy of his first record for my radio show. We didn't talk long, but I remember him saying that his style wasn't copied from Eek-A-Mouse, as he had been practising it a long time before the Mouse became very popular in 1981 with "Wha Do Dem". He seemed like a very nice young man, determined to make a name for himself. I hadn't realized he passed away until I read the link higher up in this thread.

When Simple Simon came to San Diego, CA he was running with a sound called Revelation... Eek a mouse who lived in SD for a time, had some Bloods shoot up the dance one night when Simon touched the Mic.. There is a youth out in SD named Baby Mouse who pulled the trigger and all that nonsense... Eek is well connected with the Bloods and it turned stupid...
In the end, Simon remained a good, genuine person and very well liked while Eek, well, we all. know his vibez...
Rest in power Simple Simon aka original Country Mouse...

I have a 12" with Simple Simon where he sings quite nicely, not doing the Eek-thing at all.

I found a few copies of Bad Man in a local record shop a few years ago. I think there may be some still there. Didn't float my boat as they say so got rid on the bay.
