Hey guys,
in Alton Ellis' song "Play It Cool" I heard the line "easy squeeze makes no riot" which I don't understand.
The only result of my google research was, that it is a Jamaican proverb (big suprise ).
Does anybody know what it means?

Squeeze 'em slowly and they won't notice. As the politician might say to the taxman.

Not surprisingly it's also the title of a Gladiators' song from the Studio One album "Presenting The Gladiators".

I believe that "Ease Squeeze" has been left off recent represses of Presenting the Gladiators...although it's still listed in the tracks.
