How come some vinyls are pressed in different colors? Are they special editions? Or just cool to look at?

Collectors editions and sometimes test pressings.
HIGH VALUE especially limited numbers.
Some tales of pressing factory staff doing their own pressings on the side
have lead to some really expensive collectors items.
