Eric Donaldson "Serengeti" Label

I was in a shop the other day and they had about 8 different CD`s of Eric Donaldson on the "Serengeti" label.

I have just searched on RA and they only have 2 titles listed on that label.

I never really took much note of the titles but the cover photo`s certainly looked like it put these released mid-late 70`s and maybe into the early 80`s.

Can anyone tell me anything about this label and whether he had more releases during this period that are not on RA.

I have a few tracks of his from the late 60`s and early 70`s but nothing later.

Is his later stuff worth checking out.

Definitely. IMO Eric is one of the best singers to grace Jamaica, and he still sounds great to this day. Earlier this year I was in Belize, and people were still talking about a recent festival he headlined, and totally mashed up.

we got alot of serengeti releases here in NZ including a marcia griffiths LP iirc.I have about 20 Eric albums on cassette on the Tusk label,never seen most of these on LP or even listed anywhere??
