Seen the tracklist. Not enough roots/political stuff (or heavy dub) for me to take an interest.

This box set has some crucial chunes that come no where else such as a live Slim Smith track and so much more. The Soul SYndicat chune is wicked too, so many more.......

Live Slim Smith? I had no idea such a thing existed! I wonder what other live treasures they have in their archives. I doubt I'll be getting this though I'm sick of all the compilations. If you have live tracks why not do an unreleased live album? If you release an obscure single why not release the B side or dub? It seems so easy yet they continue to disappoint. Do they actually make more money releasing the same stuff over and over than putting out an album of rare unreleased tracks?

Neither did I know live Slim Smith existed. It's clearly from a board tape! I hope they release more, like a whole night of him live!

A lot of the tracks in this set were never released in any form, and as a result, there is no "B" side to offer. Also, the vintage of most of the unreleased tracks pre-date dub. It's your choice to be "disappointed", but there are some fascinating tracks spead over this set for anyone who is interested in the history and development of Jamaican music. I hope that they get enough encouragement to continue searching the vaults for more.

@ davek: Amen Bredren! Loads of wicked unreleased gems on this box! And yes I find that one of the great things about JA music is all the different sub genres that have manifested along the way! The music was more creative and less formulaic in the earlier stages!

That set does look pretty cool, but WHY OH WHY does Trojan see the need to include things like "Double Barrel" and "Skinhead Moonstomp"? I think there are at least 5,000 Trojan collections with those songs!
