Prince Buster against the rest

Prince Buster loved to fire muscical rockets at his opponents, everybody knows about his feuds with Derrick Morgan.
Earlier the Prince cut tunes aimed at his soundsystem rivals; King Edwars, Duke Reid the Trojan and Sir Coxsone Downbeat. There are titles like "The King, The Duke And The Sir", "They Got To Go/ They Got To Come" and "Three Against One".
Now here's the question: Did his rivals cut counteractions? I just know about the Buster tunes, but surely there are answers to those?
Bless, nilo

The earliest recording of "deejaying" that Coxsone piece I've read somewhere. Dunno if it's true. But it's early and sounds a bit awkward. :)

Junior Byles - Pharoah hiding:

the Junior Byles tune refers to "Pharoah hiding from Joshua" - nothing to do at all with Buster, but about then-Prime Minister Hugh Shearer - he was the "Pharoah" to PM candidate Michael Manley's "Joshua".

Check http://www.upsetter.net/scratch/sounds/index2.htm (Mick Sleeper's site on Lee Perry) and listen to his Neat Little Man set. Scratch did a number of these tunes and you can listen to a few of his there. Good topic. Love Prince Buster.

Wicked tunes, DWick - Coxsone did good as well!
I kinda thought, that tunes of "the Sir" would be best known, but never heard the Perry tunes before..
What about Reid & Edwards, any knowledge?

And btw: tuff selection, Mr. Sleeper!

There's also "Whipping the Prince" aka "Prince, Duke and Sir" - Alton Ellis and Soul Vendors on Studio 1 (on the Mojo Rocksteady lp). On the great "Arena" rhythm if memory serves.

Thanks DWick and Nilo82. I also wrote an article about some of the "answer" tunes that Lee Perry voiced for Studio One, aimed at Prince Buster:
