Ken Boothe - Prince Jammy

I had a 12" of 'You're No Good' by Ken Boothe with Prince Jammy at the controls. The B side was 'Out Of Order Dub'. Absolutely incredible. Sadly, I don't have the 12" anymore although I do have this version of 'You're No Good' on a compilation CD - 'Haul and Pull Up Selecta'. Is there a whole album Ken Boothe with Prince Jammy out there by any chance?

I cant help you with the album youre looking for unfortunately. There is also a dubversion of "You're No Good" on "Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse of The Vampires". Do you mean that this song http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3 ... ight=54353 is a version of "You're No Good" with Ken Boothe?

Thank you for your response. Yes, it's Ken Boothe singing. In fact, the B side of the 12" is the Prince Jammy dub cut 'Out Of Order Dub'. I no longer have the 12", but thankfully have been able to find the vocal cut on 'Haul and Pull Up Selecta' - http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2755

I was hoping there was more Ken Boothe/Prince Jammy stuff out there. Presumably not.

Hi. I gladly possess the 12" you're talking about.

The Ken Boothe - You're no good 12" was issued on Attack records UK. It is indeed a version of Cornell Campbell's You're no good (issued on Jackpot in the UK).

I don't think there's a version of Out of order dub on the Scientist (Rids The World Of The Evil Curse of The Vampires) LP, though...

Hope it helps.

Hi Lion

Thank you. Are these the Prince Jammy cuts? If so where can I get this album from?

Hi discodevil

Good to hear. Frustratingly, I no longer have my copy.

Hi discodevil

What's the original Cornell Campbell track like? Is it rocksteady? I have another Ken Boothe version on 'A Man And His Hits' (Studio One), which is nothing like the Prince Jammy assisted version.

Thanks 6anbatte

I think you've misunderstood me Discodevil. I said that there is a version of You're No Good on Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse of The Vampires.

Thanks Lion. I'll definitely look out for that. Funnily enough I have just ordered some Cornell Campbell albums.
Can you recommend anywhere to get 2nd hand stuff from? Dub Vendor?

Actually, I got into the Ken Boothe version after requesting another track at the Afro Club in Brighton years ago. I am pretty sure it was 'New Broom' by Errol Dunkley, which, I assume, must have been based on the 'You're No Good' rhythm. Would that make sense? He didn't have the ED track, but instead said 'If you think the Errol Dunkley track is good check this out.' and played the Ken Boothe version. It's been my favourite track ever since.
