Mykal Rose live California '85

This seems a huge long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone can answer this idle question of mine.
I saw Michael Rose in California in somewhere around '85. I seem to remember he was spelling it Mykal Roze, with a 'z', at the time. I could be wrong. At the time I wasn't very savvy about this stuff, but what I want to know is if anyone might know who was in his band for that tour. I don't know why I remember this but I seem to remember it was Chris Meredith on bass? And the drummer was very young. Looked like a 12 year old or something but was brilliant. He was playing a Simmons kit. Anyone have any idea? I'm now curious what musicians I saw.
I could be wrong about Chris Meredith because I saw Mutabaruka too around '83/'84 and I'm pretty certain he was on bass with Muta (probably Hi Times Band? Did I really see Chinna and didn't know it?) so maybe I'm mixing it all up. Oh, and I just remembered too that Muta had a little kid DJ with him. Like 9 or 10. Wonder who that was.
Those were both great shows but I didn't know 1/10000 of what I now know about reggae.
