Hi,
Sometimes I am thinking of selling my collection. So I was wondering has somebody sold (a part of) his reggae collection and what Impact had it on him/her.
Of course I know everybody is different attached to his/her collection and therefore reacts differently. But I wonder if there are those differences.

It is preoccupation with possessions, more than anything else, that prevents men from living freely and nobly.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with have possessions
What is important is not to be attached to them.
I wouldn't sell my reggae collection unless I was on the bread line
Even if the LP's do take up too much room.

Siegi: I wouldnt sell my collection indeed

Good one or what? What I would do however, is "clean" my collection. Part from the Good, keep only the Great. Now, how to determine Good from Great?...

Siegi,no-one has actually asked WHY are you thinking of selling your collection?is it money worries that makes you consider this, if so there other ways to get cash apart from selling a beloved collection. I would sell everything and anything before considering selling my records which ive accumulated over a lifetime.
If its only part of it then I agree with Vlad, go through your records, play them if necessary to remind yourself and only get rid of those you can imagine living without.
If its because you no longer like Reggae then you must be mad!;)

I think every serious music fan reaches a point when they reconsider their record collection. While I would never consider selling my entire collection, I have certainly gone through periods where I scale it back and unload 40-50 CDs at a local music store or sell some records on E-Bay.
Right now I don't have enough room at my home for my entire music collection, so half of it has been in the attic for 2 years. Only my favourites are on display and easily accessible, so maybe this means that I could get rid of everything in the attic and not miss it.
For me, collecting is about quality, not quantity. I have plans to cut my collection by 40% by the end of the year.
