Message to my father- tune ID help please

Ive sold so many lps over the years. But I still have dozens of unmarked cassettes I used to make mixtapes off of them. From time to time I'll go digging in the crate just for fun to see what I was listening to in, say, '89 or whatever.
So, this tune came on tonight that I couldn't place at all, though I recognized it.
It sounds like an early 80's lick of the Tonight rhythm and the main vocal hook is " I got to get a message to my father in time. Must get a message to my father in time"

Anyone?

Yeah, too bad I sold it 20 years ago! :-)
When you mentioned it I still had zero memory of that record. I had to check the album cover before it jogged my memory. Thanks for the knowledge!

Even better, I see it can be had for a reasonable price on lp still. Perhaps I'll pick up a copy.

How bizarre I just bought the download of this the other day. Then noticed that someone was selling the LP for as little as 2 quid on discogs after I paid 4+

Not the first time some talks about an album on RA just days after I've got it

Might I add that the title track Dim the lights is outstanding

In fact my misses just yelled at me for singing it too often this evening
