The expanded 2-CD version has some interesting bonus tracks,
though not very accurately notated.

This is what I´ve found:

CD 1

1 – 9: The original album.

10 – 16: Described as ”demos” = early (or alternate) versions/mixes, in stereo.
Circulated unofficially as “Legalize It Sessions”, sometimes said to feature Eric Clapton.

10. Legalize It – alt. mix, vocals less upfront.
11. No Sympathy – probably a basic track. Same vocals, most of the rest appears to be different, includes harmonica and completely different lead guitar.
12. Why Must I Cry – alt. mix, no backing vocals.
13. Igziabeher (Let jah Be Praised) – alt. mix, more organ and less piano.
14. Ketchy Shubby – an earlier take, I think. No backing vocals.
15. Till Your Well Runs Dry – basic track or alt. mix. No backing vocals. Incomplete beginning.
16. Brand New Second Hand – alt. mix, no synthesizer.

CD 2

1 – 9: Described as “original jamaican mix” = early (alternate) mixes with less overdubs, in mono. Vocals are upfront throughout.
4. No Love, No Sympathy – no guitar at the intro.
7. Ketchy Shubby – starts with vocals, intro missing.

10. Legalize It (“Alternate Version”)
Actually the original Jamaican 7”-mix, as in Kazo´s Peter Tosh Black Vinyl P-04, track 3 (10A). It even has the same click at 0.16! (makes me wonder what sources were used…)

11. Burial (“Dub Version 1”)
7” b-side, this is the “empty” mix without any vocals. Kazo´z Black Vinyl Peter Tosh P-03, track 13 (06C).

12. Watcha Gonna Do (“ShaJahShoka Dub Plate”)
Same mix as the original 7” b-side in Kazo´s Black Vinyl Peter Tosh P-03, track 10 (05B) - but 30 seconds longer, and running slightly faster.

13. Igziabeher (Let Jah Be Praised) (“ShaJahShoka Dub Plate”)
Same as on the “The Ultimate Peter Tosh Experience” CD.

14. Second Hand (“ShaJahShoka Dub Plate”)
Similar mix (more echo, some more vocals left in) as the 7” b-side in Kazo´s Peter Tosh Black Vinyl P-03, track 19 (X2) - but 30 seconds longer and the backing vocals are in stereo.

15. Burial (“Dub Version 2”)
7” b-side, the mix with some vocals left in. Kazo´s Black Vinyl Peter Tosh P-03, track 12 (06B).

16. Legalize It (“Dub Version”)
Previously unreleased (dubplate?) dub version with additional congas/bongos.
Informally known as “binghi bongo version”.

Previously released tracks that are not included:

Ketchy Shubby (instrumental) - on the 1999 "Legalize It" Legacy CD release.
Legalize It - the great "dubby" dubplate mix on "The Ultimate Peter Tosh Experience" CD. A glaring omission!

The original 1973-75 Intel Diplo singles are also not here (except as noted above). They would make a superb CD on their own! :D (None is exactly the same as on the original album)
Can´t Blame The Youth / Version
No Mercy / Version
The Mark Of The Beast / Version
Burial / Version (2 different version mixes, as detailed above)
What You Gonna Do / Version
Brand New Second Hand / Version (2 different version mixes)
Ketchy Shubby / Iration (version)
Legalize It / Version (there are possibly 2 mixes of the a-side).

One part of me is thinking doesn't sound worth buying

And another part of me is screaming, "but there slightly different mixes I must have them"

The best tracks for me are the Burial Dubs. Since I'm not a vinyl collector (anymore) I never heard these versions before. I love them.

The Equal Rights Legacy CD is better imho. Great "mixes" of African, Stepping Razor and Downpressor Man.

Equal Rights Question: There's a version of Vampires that uses the vocals from the 1987 No Nuclear War LP Version. Is this a mistake to put this track on the Deluxe Equal Rights? Or was it even remixed recently?

Didn't wanna open a new thread or reactivate the old Equal Rights thread. Fits in here right?

Been listening to the deluxe 2-CD Equal Rights again these last days -
essential is what it is!
The outtakes on CD 1 are absolutely amazing, and CD 2 is an interesting mix of singles/versions/alternates and dubplates.

However, I think that both Vampire (demo) and Jah Man (demo) - tracks 9/10, CD 2 - are really from the 1985 sessions for No Nuclear War.
Soundwise, they don´t fit in with the rest of the tracks.

I don't know about Jah Man, but Vampire Demo really sounds like it's from the mid/late 80s right? Haven't heard that album in a while. It's exceptional. Way better than many useless Marley re-re-releases.

I have both the "Equal Rights" and "Legalise It" Legacy CD`s and I also think that "Equal Rights" is the better of the two.

"Legalise it" IMO is one for the completist collector as it utilises the same 9 tracks across both discs albeit in different mixes but it does get somewhat repetative by the end.

"Equal Rights" is more varied IMO and just give you that something extra across the two discs to keep you interested.

Both great CD`s though in there own right. Pity Sony haven`t thought to add "Bush Doctor" to this series.

Yes - maybe not as much good extra material available, though...
And there´s the 2002 CD remaster featuring the great original version of Lessons In My Life, plus some longer version and dubs.

That's the CD I got which I pretty good. Its the inclusion of those extra tracks on that CD that made me think that maybe there was enough material from those sessions to warrant a 2 disc release.

there's difference: these extra tracks (with the exception of "Lesson in my Life") are basically 12" inches which were officially released on vinyl back in the days
