I wonder if that was intent to harm Toots - or just someone not thinking? Yaknow, they finished the bottle and just exuberantly hurled it at the stage, just because, but got 'lucky' and actually hit the guy. I'll bet that most people here have been at gigs and seen bottles, near-full beercans and pint pots crashing onto the stage - but not hitting anyone, so no-one really cared...

Part of the reason that plastic bottles and glasses are used at gigs is so that drunk people can throw them at the bands all evening without causing much in the way of harm.

Has anyone here ever read Lemmy Kilminster's autobiography? He says there, that he's had people throwing razorblades taped between two coins at him and his band on stage.
