I used to have this song in vinyl,way back. The lyrics as I remember them " Fire fire fire,rastaman ,wire wire wire,dah dah dah...gimme back me shillings and pence......recompense I,ve been trying to find this song for years. I thought it was by a toaster like I Roy/U Roy .. circa mid to late 70's,. any ideas?

I,m having a party in September. I have built a 200w valve amp with home made cabs 2 x (2 x vintage 15" Celestion 100' watt woofers)With 2 x 150w vintage compression horns on top. I live in a small village,everyones invited. But I,d like to wake the locals up a bit Ha HA Ha.....What would you recommend as a playlist. I love Dub,Prince Fari,Scratch,King Tubby as well as Bob's early stuff,Big youth,I/U Roy. Cant stand The Scientist's anal nonsense or anything after 1979. Dr W

Fire In A Wire track..... how sad am I that I know that, I need to get out more

Thanks Dr Congo Bunny. Thought it was I Roy. Sure I had the track on one of the "This Is The Front Line " LP's. You know the one came out circa 75 with a fist grabbing barbed wire on the jacket. Been through every track list. Zip,Zero.

Hey,its not sad. Nout wrong with being passionate about something you love. Unfortunatly I cant remember who a track is by etc,but I remember more or less every note.

Now all I have to do is track down a reggae version of Aint no Sunshine that I heard on a tape compelation titled "Jah Umvolosi" when I lived in Norfolk,enjoy the sunshine,Dr Wobble.

Good luck with ain't no sunshine, I think almost ever reggae artist has covered that track

Fire In A wire was recently (and lovingly!) repressed on 7 inch by the good people at Digikiller.

I also used to have it on a virgin compilation, but on cassette. I've tried tracking it down on vinyl, but without any luck. It had a drawing of a dancing I-roy in what looks like red and gold pajamas on the front, rather than the clenched fist/ barbed wire thing.
