Its not Don Carlos. That dub is called "Scientist mash the boy Crucial Bunny. The vocal to this, as far as I can remember, was from the latter half of the seventies and was not done by a solo artist and I cannot remember what the track was called ot who sang on it.

I`ll have a search to try and identify the track.

Can't quite work out why this album has been dissed on other threads. Unless of course they have been listening to it on CD that's been poorly transferred. On vinyl the bass is so, er, muscular.

sorry but the cd i have features tedious vocal ,spoken intros and the dubs are very poor. but each to their own

Most definitely each to his own. What a sad world if we all liked the same stuff.
I would like to hear the CD just out of interest as the vinyl version (in my view) is an absolute scorcher.

is there a slight chance we're on about 2 different albums here? does your album have tedious intro speeches before each track?cheers..Sean

I thought that may be the case.

Mind you, it does have a bit of that, but I always thought it was all done with tongues firmly in cheeks. The vinyl album serial number is 'BUM LP 101', which is itself amusing, I think. The joke isn't apparent on the CD as it's serial number is 'RNCD 2126'.

Also on the album track 2 is, for example, 'Suntest Mash The Boy Crucial Bunny' whereas on the CD track 2 has been 'unfunnied' to 'Scientist Mash Up The Boy Crucial Bunny'.

Then again, that isn't going to make something you think is a dull dub track a more exciting one!

Actually, with the 'joke thing' in mind please play Track 2 again (just that one track). I think this is such a good track. Reading other posts we definitely have similar tastes and I can't believe I have got something so wrong.

I was wondering the same thing, I have that title on CD and I also think it is excellent.

There are spoken intro`s by Crucial Bunny himself and I personally don`t think they spoil the feel at all.

The base and overall quality of sound is very good and the dubs themself are from excellent vocal tracks from the late seventies.

Again, I don`t know how you can so easily dismiss this album, its as good as most that are available.

Why don`t you give this one a try, its called "Chanting Dub with the help of the Father" and is an Everton DaSilva production featuring Augustus Pablo and the Revolutionaries.

It is wedely acclaimed as one of the better dub albums from the 70`s
