Is this another bogus release from Jamaican Recordings?:

Guy in the recordstore said it was genuine.

The same record was also released by another label: Dubmusic Productions. http://tinyurl.com/m9q5rcb

Anyone?

Dubmusic productions is Scientist bootleg releases isn't it?

Which would seem to indicate that Scientist thinks it's him at the controls, which would seem to indicate that it is at least semi legit.

I just listened to a few of the sound clips on the MP3 on Amazon and it certainly sounded like Scientist to me.

Not sure about the Mad Professor link though?

To be clear I'm not dissing Scientist when I say Bootlegs, I personally think he is the artist in this music, its not the producer or the band or the singer, it's the remix engineer who is the artist of a dub album. Frankly I'd rather Scientist made some money from his life long work than some producer who just paid for the session with all the money they made form ripping off the singers, musicians and re-mixers in the first place.

Yes Scientist himself seems to be re-releasing this and some others too. I'm very thankful for having the opportunity to

a) buy some long out of print classics and
b) putting a dollar or two in Scientists own pockets, since he gets ripped off for 30 years now.

Hmmm I think Crazy Mad Professor is not the same person as Mad Professor.

There was a JA engineer named Professor. I think that's who it is referring to, not the UK Mad Professor. Given that label's marketing history, I'm guessing they just worded it that way to mislead people into thinking it was something it is not.
The music is legit, it's just marketed in a shady way.

Here's what EB's says about it (take it for what it is):

No Mad Professor on this album. It's all King Tubby and some Scientist. Includes some seriously heavy mixes of Drifter, Armagideon, Heavenless, etc. Lots of early 1980's rhythms from those impossible to find albums on the Vista Sounds label (dubs from Don Carlos, John Wayne, Linval Thompson, etc.)
