Roots Archives Forum

We all know this forum is being swarmed by spam several times a day.
Being the only moderator left here, it has been a very frustrating task to delete all this everyday without being able to actually do something about this. It left me with little to no time to even participate on here.
I stopped checking both other fora on this website just because I got fed up with it. I'm sure some of you've noticed as well.

Of course I have tried contacting the webmaster (designer) to tackle this issue, but he doesnt't always have time to work on the website.
Some of you will have read my last message (that has been deleted now) where I said, I was going to stop moderating the Roots Archives forum.

Well, I have had contact with Seb and he told me that Matt will change some things around here which should result in less spam.

So I suggest to all just hang in there (me included) and wait for it to happen. I will try and do my best to keep the spam to a minimum till then, so we can all enjoy this reggae forum again.

You, Sir, do a good job and all the forum should be grateful for that.
This spam-issue is indeed tiresome and annoying, hope it gets better in the future.

Why would a message about the spam problem be deleted?

A couple of discussions about it have just disappeared. Good luck with getting it sorted..

Why not close the other fora? Since the 'downgrading' of RA in 2009 there is no need to contribute to the archives at all.

I thought about that as well Bellyman. Close down both the other forums and stick with this one for now.
If a message was deleted (whenever that was), there probably was a reason for that. If you want to know why something gets deleted, pm the moderator.

Do you still want us to report a new spam thread to you?
Or is it even more work by sorting more e-mails?

And from me too a big THANX for keeping up the moderation!

Having said that, all that spam has been a real help when I'm mixing cement in my new Nike trainers, wearing Oakley knock-off sunglasses and listening to Roots Archives Tune of the Day on the i-pod!

Somebody has to I guess... Wonder if anyone has bought anything off these links ever - I somehow doubt it.

Anyway thanks to Ron, Seb and Matt for keeping this great site going in the face of the tidal wave of spam from people who should really find something better to do than get all us mild-mannered reggae fans' backs up. Maybe we should try spamming their mailboxes with tidal waves of reggae albums they should be listening to instead!
