I've already got the album but it's a very welcome reissue still. Some great Linval productions and Eek is loved almost by everyone except reggae fans it seems. Which is a shame because I think he released a couple of albums that were incredible as well as numerous fantastic singles. The last couple of months I've found myself returning to his Once A Virgin 12" on Joe Gibbs. Slow and heavy minor chord rub-a-dub.

Lol

Interesting stuff, I am intrigued to hear it especially with the Linval Thompson connection as he is one my favorite producer's.

Eek a mouse has certainly made some great records, Ganja smuggling and bad Friday to repeat my favorites from the Eek gone to jail/courthouse thread

Probably repeating myself too, but for sheer vocal weirdness coupled with a great rhythm "For Hire and Removal" is the Eek track that does it for me.

I'm one of those people who sometimes looks at an album and thinks "Nah, too many songs about girls, not enough roots/culture/politics/jah".

I'm not a huge Eek fan, but I'm interested to hear this because some of his early stuff that I've heard recently via the reissued 7"s on the Eek a Mouse label, like Creation, My Father's Land, Wicked Shall Not Reign, are quite good and predate the whole bingy bong bong thing. I like him when he's singing over minor key roots rhythms.

he hasn´t done that in over 35 years as far as I know...

this is from 1981 if I´m not mistaken:

Hasn't done what in 35 years? And what is the video to demonstrate? I'm not sure what your point is.

Great news! Well, great if it sees LP release too. =D

Good point, kalcidis, about reggae fans not really digging Eek too much. He's a true original to me. Not sure how I hadn't heard Once a Virgin before -- class tune. I think Bubble Yuh Hip is a nice album and since I wouldn't pay more than $30 for the original, I will most likely buy this as a reissue. Hopefully the Keith Hudson vinyl reissue sold well enough so that Hot Milk can continue with the vinyl format. I actually passed on the Keith Hudson LP because it was a bit expensive and because it's a rare occasion when I'm in the mood for a Keith Hudson vocal LP. I appreciate him greatly when I put him on but the 6 reissued LPs I have from him already were not played enough to justify buying another one of his LPs.

Wicked... been looking for a reissue of this album for a long time. Amazon lists its release date at November 15th. Just one week before that VP releases their Mouse-dedicated Reggae Anthology 2CD/DVD. Nice!
