Hi,

See this album,

http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1345

Can anyone tell me if this LP by King Tubby, Prince Jammy & Scientist is the same album as the "Fatman Presents Twin Spin Volume 1" which is on the Fatman Label.

I have been looking for the 1st,2nd,3rd Generation Dub on CD for ages but have never seen it. However, I have seen the Twin Spin on CD and have been told it might be the same tracks.

Thanks

Respect

Dave

Hi Rootsman,
I don't know if 1,2,3 Generation dub is the same as Twin Spin, but I have 1,2,3, dub and I can give you the track listing. I can also help with a CD copy.

Please email me at cgha@homechoice.co.uk if interested.

Respect,
Ignatius

I have both, I will try to listen to them side by side to compare.

They are different! Twin spin has more tracks but seems to share some tracks from the original 1,2,3 gen dub LP.

Leggo,

Is the Twin Spin worth picking up then ?

Brother Ignatius,

Is your CD copy one you would burn or is it a shop copy of the album ?

Thanks

Dave

Twin Spin is worth getting, especially as you can get it for under Ten Pounds sterling. The pressing and mastering seem pretty good quality too.

Whereas you'll need quite a bit of folding to get the original 1st 2nd and 3rd Gen LP.

Leggo,

Have you seen this for under ten quid, if so where ?

I saw it advetised a while back and it was a bit more than a tenner.

The cheaper I can get it the more I can put towards my next purchase.

I think I have worked this one out.

Twin Spin is a fusion of two LPs ---- 1,2,3 Gen Dub:

PLUS:

Prince Jammy - Fatman vrs. Shaka In A Dub Conference (Confrontation Dub)

http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2062

The CD version has extra tracks.

And, OK, I lied, it's 10p over a tenner here (plus postage!):

But it was only £9.99 when I got it a couple of years back.

Also, this ebay seller normally has lots of reggae repress stuff for under a tenner but right now his shop is full of his wife's underwear (she retails lingerie!) Dunno what has happened to his reggae! He was a big wholesaler of reggae vinyl for many many years.

Hi Leggo,

Thanks for the links, I think i`ll use the first one as I don`t fancy a new thong yet.

Would have replied sooner but the wife saw me looking at the second link a thought I was treating her to some new underwear. When I said she had jumped to the wrong conclusion she kicked me off to have a look.

What did you say about finding a wife who understands me.

Respect

Dave
