Computerised Dub is Jammy's dub set of Wayne Smiths Sleng Teng set. A rather nice dub album of computerised rhythms. Alborosie's Dub Clash isn't more than two or three years old and are great dub mixes of rhythms he has produced. A brilliant set and I do hope they re-release that one on vinyl.

The other two I've never heard of before. But the two I know makes it a very interesting set.

only heard computerised dub before and I did not hear a drop of dub in it, to me it was just the bare digital tracks that Wayne Smith sang over, with out Wayne's sweet sweet voice to me it was just annoying tinny crappy early keyboard presets. Had Jammy actually dubbed it up all crazy then it would have been exciting to me, but I do not remember hearing so much as one dub or remixing fx/effort put into it

The Search for New Life seems an apt title. The search has being going on a long time. Cannot listen to any of that Jammmy etc computerised stuff.

Well there is some digital stuff out there that I like. Jammy-produced Nitty Gritty material for example. Or the Gussie Clark-produced Gregory Isaacs "Ruff Neck" = super wicked!

But yeah, most of it is utter crap. And digital Dub, well I guess I haven't heard that much of it yet, but what I heard didn't do it for me. Even some newschool Scientist mixes I heard. Just not my sound.

But with every bloodclaat Hipster listening to Dubstep now - I can see why Greensleeves is making this release.

To call it crap I would think is a bit harsh. There's a lot of digital dub that is simply incredible. Just listen to a lot of the stuff that was produced in the UK during the late 80's to mid 90's. Was listening to Warrior Stance with Dread and Fred just yesterday. A brilliant slice of digital dubbing.

freaking loathe these non-organic sounds. too harsh on the ears for me, I'm too old for that

I checked that one on youtube. I hoped that I like it, cause I'm not closed-minded. The composition/melody itself is good, but the "instruments" used... just not for my ears I guess. No disrespect to the artists of course - it's just not for me.

I like me some early 90s Pinchers, Cutty Ranks or Ninjaman. And I have a lot of love for late 90s Goofy, Red Rat, Degree, Hawkeye...

Too bad. It is a defining production in the digital UK roots scene. That being said, I know a lot of people have a hard time dealing with the UK stuff. I love a lot of it but I can't stand even more (especially what I've heard from the last 10 years or so). Warrior Stance and songs from the same era I tend to return to often ... very raw and heavy. The more polished it gets the less interested I become.
