I gave it a (very) short listening earlier today and it seems .... bogus ?
the dub mix doesn't sound "old school" at all imo
anyone gave it a listen and shared the same impression ?
is black arrow related in a way or another to jamaican recordings ?
and by the way, I have another question related to bogus companies, anyone knows what happened to rhino (aka crocodisc and others ...) & their famous owner Enzo Hamilton ?

I think black arrow is one of the hundreds of 're-release labels of Bunny Lee, if you look on Amazon there are at least 3 if not 5 labels that are all releasing the exact same albums all with really dodgy and different covers. Jackpot is one of these lables, I can't think of the other labels names. But they have all the bog standard Bunny Lee stuff and all the so called lost dubs done by Nuton, as a previous thread here alluded. I reckon your right about this release its one of those modern remixes of the original master tapes

While I agree with the substance of your post, Jackpot is an original Bunny Lee label from the 70's, not a recently created re-release label.
Black Arrow seems more dubious

Black Arrow was an UK label ran by Donville Davis, who is a cousin of the Heywood brothers Leroy Mafia & Dave Fluxie ( his main lable is Cousins) They stopped trading in 2012.

This album features Barry Brown tapes, overdubbed and mixed by M & F

that's this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Barry-Brown-Sho ... arry+brown

which I now see this is the dubs from the above with a few extra tracks added

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dub-Barry-Brown ... arry+brown

Minus the vocals I see

Interesting that Black arrow stopped trading in 2012 and yet their digital releases are still available, I wonder who Amazon pays the royalties to?

Sorry, I meant to say they stopped their physical distribution, because of lack of cd/vinyl sales.

Ah, fair enough...
