Greetings, im confused on when a handful of albums were recorded. I got this from wiki page:

Engine '54: Let's Ska and Rock Steady - (1968) - Jamaican Gold
Reggae Power - (1969)
Woman a Capture Man - (1970) - Trojan

I know that Lenoard Dillion and singer mate Stephen Taylor recorded more afterh 1970 and up to Taylors passing. I also know that Dillion went back to studio one in early 80s to record and album that sounded straight out of the 60s. As it is what about the Sir JJ album, Clap your hands, Owner fe de yard, train to skaville. I know there is some overlap with those too. Anyone can have a chronology on all the Ethiopians recordings?

After the 3 LPs above, I think the only original ones released up to the early 80´s were these (by Leonard as Ethiopians or Ethiopian):

Slave Call (1977) Observer JA, Third World UK, Heartbeat US
The Gate Of Zion (1978) GG´s JA/UK
Everything Crash (1979/80) Studio One JA/US

All others are compilations, released later - if I´m not mistaken.

Right compliations but recorded when? I was suprised that Dillioni went back to studio one in 80s. The all around sound suggest early date.

A chronology of all Ethiopians recordings - i.e. not the records - is probably impossible to make...

About the compilations:

Essential are Trojan´s 2-CD Train To Skaville Anthology (recorded 1966-1975), and Heartbeat´s Owner Fe De Yard (recorded circa 1966-1979 and 1985/86).
Some tracks on Owner Fe De Yard are Studio One productions, including the mid 80´s tracks. As Studio One often used older rhythms for new tracks, they can sound like 60´s/70´s recordings without acually being that.
And Dillon recorded for Studio One on several occasions over the years...

Of Trojan´s other compilations, I think only The World Goes Ska (1967-1971) features some tracks that´s not on the 2-CD Train To Skaville Anthology.

There is another CD called Train To Skaville on Charly. This is totally different and include the albums Engine 54 and The Gate Of Zion.

On Lagoon there´s Clap You Hands and Sir J.J. And Friends, recorded circa 1968-1970 for J.J. Johnson. (The best tracks, imo, are also on the Trojan 2-CD)

I don´t think any other compilation adds anything to the above...?
