Please, who plays this genious oriental slide on the song "Java" from A. Pablo ? And on "My mind" from H. Mundell (E. Ranglin, isn't it ?)?
And last question, is it C. Brooks who plays the saxophone on River Nile (version) from A. Pablo ?
I love those three instrumental parts very much, but the covers don't always specify on which song the musicians play...

I would actually attribute both of those lead parts to Chinna Smith. In fact, I believe he played on at least two versions of Java (as an Impact All-Star in the early 70s, and Rockers All-Star in the early 80s)

Plus the sliding guitar played in octaves is one of his signatures...I recommend everyone check out his solo work.
