The first generation : - 1950's - 1960's (Ska/Rocksteady
Count Machuki (The First DJ to Talk On A Mic In Jamacia In The 50's - Quite Rare To Hear)
King Stitt : Took Over From The Late Great Count Machuki (R.I.P) And Took Storm across JA in the 60's
Sir Lord Comic : Also A witty and tasteful DJ who along-side Count Machuki Pioneered The DJ Style In The 50's/Early 60's
Daddy U-Roy : One Of The Most Recognised Pioneers Of The DJ Style and Blessed With an exteamly unique style; his signiture ''wooooooo's'' and ''as i would tell you's''.Often Credited as the Originator Although That title techniqcally belongs to Count Machuki, but U-Roy was the first DJ or 'Toaster' (As It Was Then Called) To Cause A storm all over Jamacia
Second Generation : - 1970's (Roots & Culture)
Big Youth : - Very Roots Oriatated, and cultural/witty DJ Big Youth Was In Th Mid 70's Jamacia's Biggest Star , and had a great DJ style That Resembled U-Roy's but interpreted an element of jokes and social issues.
Dennis Alcapone/Dilliger : - Two DJ's Who Took Up After Big Youth & Literally ruled JA's DJ music scene In 70's - Attack Socal/Cultural Issues while Praising Jah and embracing Rastafari.
Third Generation : - 1980's (Rub-A-Dub/Dancehall)
General Echo/Yellow Man : These two DJ's Both played a major role in the transformation of Roots Reggae into the early drum & bass dancehall sound which predominantly revolved around 'slackness' and Lude lyrics mostly about girls.
Papa Toyan/Lee Van Cliff : Two Of My Favourate Rub-A-Dub DJ's who preached Rastafarinism and social awarness but in a 80's DJ style and Fashion (Toyan/Lee Van R.I.P In Zion)
Josey Wales/Charlie Chaplin : Just Like 'Toyan/Lee Van',Josey Wales & Charlie Chaplin are also two of my favorate DJ's From the 80's (Alongside Early B)They Were Trained By U-Roy and adapted his social awarness and his lyrical skill.
