Hi,

By listening to this unrealised track : http://www.reggaeville.com/nc/artist-de ... Audio.html.

I believe to recognize Angus Gaye drumming : Angus Gaye aka "Drummie Zeb" is of course one of the foundation member of Aswad. Some say that Sly Dunbar is playing on "Punky Reggae Party original version". But I heard Sly himself saying that. He only did the "Iron Lion Zion Remix" and, so, as far as I know he has never played for Bob Marley.

Angus is also playing on the album DRY & HEAVY Tour" Live at the Rainbow Theatre, 1977" by Burning Spear.

Here, this is Drummie Zeb From Aswad ( with the black hat) : https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hph ... 3162_n.jpg

But, there is also a drummer named Ernest Williams who also introduce himself as "Drummie Zeb" ... He is well known because he was drummer for the Wailers band for years :

There is a kind of confusion in many people's minds ... They have maybe the same nickname. But, obviously, this is not the same person?! :)

Re the name.. Drummie is just a nickname for a drummer... Kind of like soldjie for soldier.. I would guess the zeb comes from the tribe of Zebulon

Give thanks dickie,

Yes, I know the nicknames for the musicians like : "drummie, bassie, guitsy etc. Anyway, I found weird to take exactly the same stage name than a "Reggae music star" ... Because, many people probably do not know that, they are two different drummers ! I found that : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6EbNLcK4R4

And you are right, Angus Gaye is playing on Delroy Washington's album "I-Sus" : I haven't seen the album credits. But, I recognize his style of drumming (+ The album was recorded in England --> Aswad's country) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=ALBT ... detailpage

it is a well known fact that the entire Aswad band backed Bob on the "British" versions of "Punky Reggae Party" and also "Keep on moving"
