Greetings,

This is my 1st post. Long time Roots and Dub lover.
I have gained much knowledge from this forum already, lots of little gaps have been filled thanks to the wise people on here. Give thanks.

I have been on a mission to find the vocal tracks to the many Dub albums I have in my collection.
The one I most want to find at present is, "Don't Move" from Pick a Dub - Keith Hudson.
Here @ 8.20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtmnSLrYpjU
I know there must be many cuts to it but I have had no joy so far.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Pryere

Thanks for that AnorakTrev. I can hear where you are coming from but it's not that riddim. Anyone else?

I saw at BAF a reference to a song called "Be Still", with the caveat that the poster wasn't sure if the song in question even existed. It does sound like he's singing that throughout.

He also kinda sounds like he's singing "When You Dance" by Hubert Lee in the beginning, doesn't he? Way different though...

Thanks bugman. I agree that is what he might be saying, definitely something about "dance". I would also love to know who "He" is. I have had lots of suggestions over the years of who it might be but nothing definitive.

The Dub Directory has a few gaps with this album.
http://www.dubdirectory.de/k_hudson.htm but has been very useful for other tracks.

Related to this is - I have the cover to the original release but not the record. Some swine nicked it out of my box a few years ago but left the cover behind...

"I would also love to know who "He" is."

Oh, I think it's definitely Keith Hudson singing...

This probably doesn't help much but the later lyrics in the tune (around 10:26 on the Youtube video) are taken from Derrick Morgan's "Blazing Fire" in the original he sang "But still I'm your superior". This became "Be still I'm your superior" in later versions (for example in the Derrick Morgan medley on Sly Robbie and the Taxi Gang -v- Purpleman & Friends).

If you listen carefully I'm sure Keith Hudson is singing "Be still I'm your superior". However, I wonder whether he has just recorded some lyrics on the dub as I can't find a released Keith Hudson song with those lyrics. Does anyone else know of a Keith Hudson tune with the lyrics "Be still I'm your superior"?

I think that clears up what the lyric is, thanks Rob. I have wondered for years what it might be.
Still no closer to other cuts of that riddim...Anyone?

you're quoting the chorus of 'Be Still', 'Blazing fire' is a different song in he saga . its the answer to Buster's Blackhead Chiney: 'you said it, so i am a blazing fire.. you said it, I am a blackhead chiney'
