According to the Jackie Bernard Foundation page on Facebook he has sadly just passed away. I haven't had any other confirmation.

I thought he was a great singer and that he came across as a very warm person. Another big loss to Reggae if it's true.

I was in the process of posting a Jackie Bernard track on Youtube when I heard so I've put it up as a Tribute on the following link:

Very sad to hear, he had been ill for a while and anbessa I think had been doing stuff to help him in JA and online raising funds, they did up his home, painted it and got him meds, I lost track of what was happening but I see his age caught up with him. Their is a nice video of him on YouTube I uploaded some years ago with him signing 'singer man' courtesy of mark Gorney, check it out if u get time.

RIP Jackie Bernard... Gone but not forgotten.
