Hi Everyone,

We are two hopeless dubheads from South West London. For the last three years we have been transferring our old tapes, recorded in the 1970s/80s, into digital format. Most of the songs we know, but there is a long list of songs - vitually all dubs - where we cannot identify the title, artist or album. We are desperate to identify the songs because we can then look for better recordings of the songs on vinyl or CD.

Initially, we wanted to put up a web page containing 25 songs that we most wanted to identify. The idea was that people could then click on the songs and see if they recognize them. Unfortunately, we don't know how to make web pages.

What we have done instead is to make a CD of these 25 songs. If you think you may be able to help identify these tunes, please email us at:

will send the CD to you (free of course).

Hi Darewon,

Thanks for the advice about yousendit. I have gone to the site and opened an account, but I can't see how to post the music files on the site so that others can download them. It seems that I can only send files to individual recipients, one at a time. I'm obviously missing something. If it's not too much trouble, could you let me know how to do it, please?

yousendit sucks ( you can only use it 20/30 times or something )

try one of these sites:

www.rapidshare.de
or
www.turboupload.com

You would need to compress them in a winRAR file (this would allow you to upload them all at once). Then post to yousendit. Allow it to fully upload. Once done it will provide them a link. Then cut and paste the link after it uploads, could take a while (maybe an hour or more at most). You do not need to send it to anyone but yourself. The link will suffice if you cut and paste it on the forum. Individuals will get the link and download it themself.

But according to some it "sucks."
