be interesting to know if the songs on it that are already widely available are the same versions as we all already have or if they are new or alternative versions. It's not the most puzzling thing they have re-released in this series
I really want to hear the yabby you set and the paragons set and the Wareika Dub set
More than anything it makes me wonder what else Island have in their vaults, Arkology 2 please?

I don't think they are different mixes/versions as far as I can tell from sound samples, a good compilation with some cracking tunes though.
I see the whole lot of these releases up @ EB's today. I received the Yabby You from Juno today to replace my old worn copy. The sound quality is perfect. Juno had them for GBP12.49 which is the cheapest I've found them for....

Ah, funny, I knew I knew this title from an existing release from way back when. Pretty certain this Island release is connected to this follow up:

...and now, even more info:
This Vol 1 was previously released, unlike what BOSS SHOTS / Universal music / Island (a small branding problem here, maybe?) are telling us: "....the 'Reggae Bloodlines' LP was swiftly scheduled for release, yet for reasons lost in the mists of time, it never saw issue."
Here is the proof, with, frankly, a better cover:

And I'll finish with this: pretty clear Tommy Cowan (or whoever was involved with this) was inspired by Virgin's Reggae Front Line, both from a name and from a cover art point of view. Yet another story to tell
Tommy, if you read this, can you please confirm we are correct?

Ha ha! amazing, I'll never trust another record company as long as I live...
certain companies I've noticed simply change the name of a track and claim it is a new recording when it's not
What I don't get is why don't boss shot/trojan/virgin don't employ one of the highly knowledgeable reggae gurus off this forum, there are some people here whom I believe know everything there is to know about reggae
Thanks for sharing this it has made my day in a rye sort of way

From the way I read their info was that they intended to release that LP but it never happened. The Blood Lines LP has even been reissued from what I know. At least I saw it popping up a lot in 2002-2005 at different record stores. Perhaps some old stock that was found. Never bought it however since I didn't think it had a strong enough selection in the sense that many of the songs were widely available at other places.
Used to have the Black Star Liner as well on this label. Sold than one as the pressing was too much of a typical JA-record.
