"Jamaica ska" song origins

Hi,
I have some troubles finding information about this particular song "Jamaica ska" (a.k.a "Jamaican ska"), i.e. who is the original artist. I've always known the Max Romeo's version, but I recently found out the song had to be known in Poland as early as 1965 - due to [this cover](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEv2RSt1Gck). AFAIK Romeo wasn't an active (let alone "known") artist in early 60s. I know there's a Byron Lee's version that might've been released earlier, but it's very hard to determine. And then the Polish cover resembles Romeo's one the most (to me at least) so I'm confused. Any clues?
